Most recently, Dr. Evens answered a renewed call to expand his impact by co-founding Destiny Church of Kissimmee alongside his wife of 30 years, Dr. Chundra Evens. Together, they established a ministry rooted in the vision of empowering lives and helping individuals fulfill their God-given purpose. Destiny Church stands as a beacon in the Kissimmee community, where faith, discipleship, and outreach converge to inspire growth, transformation, and bold living.
Dr. Evens holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Theology & Divinity) degree from True Vine Christian University and is committed to impacting Osceola County and beyond through purpose, love, and service.

Dr. Roderick Evens

Dr. Roderick Evens is a devoted leader, pastor, and professional committed to fulfilling his God-given purpose: to uplift, encourage, and guide individuals toward realizing their
divine destiny. He serves as a Senior Level Sales Guide with Walt Disney World’s Disney Vacation Club Corporation, while faithfully serving in ministry as a Senior Pastor.
As the son and grandson of a pastor and Church District Superintendent, Dr. Evens carries a rich legacy of faith and leadership. He has served as Church Administrator at Sanctuary of Praise Ministries in Orlando, Florida, and as Senior Pastor at Trinity Church in Sebring, Florida. He was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God By Faith under Bishop James McKnight. Dr. Evens also attended the Azuza School of Ministry in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Dr. Chundra L. Evens is a distinguished educational leader, pastor, and community advocate whose career reflects a deep commitment to excellence, service, and transformative leadership. After serving five years as Principal of Osceola County School for the Arts, she made history in March 2020 as the first African American appointed Assistant Superintendent of the High School Division for the School District of Osceola County in Kissimmee, Florida.
A highly credentialed educator, Dr. Evens is certified K–12 and holds specialized certifications in Exceptional Student Education, ESOL, Reading, Educational Leadership, and School Principal. Her professional journey is enriched by earlier experience in Correctional Probation and Performing Arts. She attended Florida A&M University as a member of the Infamous Marching 100 and later earned a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Central Florida. She completed both her master’s and Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership at National Louis University.
Dr. Evens has received numerous prestigious recognitions, including the Harvard University Extension School Strategic Leadership Program and the National Institute for School Leadership Executive Development Program. Her honors include the Florida Department of Education Outstanding Assistant Principal Achievement Award; Secondary Literacy Administrator of the Year; Distinguished Minority Educator of the Year at both St. Cloud Middle and Zenith High; New Beginnings Education Center Teacher of the Year and SAC Distinguished Service Award; Council for Exceptional Children Middle School Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Rookie Teacher of the Year; and the district’s Distinguished Minority Runner-Up Educator of the Year. She was also the first principal in the district to achieve Best and Brightest recognition and was named the 2019 Principal of the Year by Osceola Visionaries, Inc.
Guided by her faith and inspired by Nelson Mandela’s belief in education as a powerful tool for change, Dr. Evens has actively served her community as a Girl Scouts troop leader, volunteered with Give Kids the World, a member of Tau Beta Sigma, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Evens is a woman of faith, who has a firm belief in Philippians 4:13, knowing that she is equipped to do all things through Christ which strengthens her. Not by her might, but by the Spirit of the Living God. Having served in her local church at the Church of God By Faith, Winter Garden, Florida campus since her childhood, and working alongside her husband at Sanctuary of Praise Ministries in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Evens yielded to the call of the Lord to do a greater work for the kingdom. She was ordained as a Pastor and served for almost four years as the Senior Co-Pastor at Trinity Church Sebring Campus, along with her husband, Pastor Dr. Roderick L. Evens. They served in this capacity until they accepted a new appointment from God by launching and founding Destiny Church of Kissimmee, in Kissimmee, Florida.
